Priory Highbank is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This is a full time, 37.5 hour role.
Based in Bury, Greater Manchester, Priory Highbank Centre is a Neurorehabilitation service for adults. It provides residential support for males and females with acquired brain injuries (ABI), progressive neurological conditions (PNC), and associated complex physical health needs, including those with complex respiratory requirements such as tracheostomies and mechanical ventilation.
Our service users also receive neurorehabilitation for conditions such as:
- Acquired brain injuries
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Post neurosurgeries
- Neurodegenerative conditions
- Spinal cord injuries
- Diffuse multifocal brain injuries
- Strokes
What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalized approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
- You will ensure our residents have any personal needs or requirements met; including any personal care, participation in activities or support with daily living tasks
- You’ll complete daily admin including updating person centred support and care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes
- Maintain professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders
- Provide advice and guidance to less experienced staff undertaking similar duties
- Assist qualified clinicians (nurses and therapists) in the delivery of complex care needs, rehabilitation therapies and activities under their direction and supervision as part of the multidisciplinary team

What you’ll bring to the role

- Experience in giving nursing and personal care to people with complex physical and cognitive needs
- Good communication skills in order to be able to support our residents
- Desirable – Full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years in order to support our residents with trips to the community and any social engagements
