Lockheed Martin (UK) Ampthill is a rapidly changing, dynamic part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation with both domestic and international customers. It focuses on Platform Integration, Ground Based Air Defence, Special Projects and Weapons, providing a range of products and services to the Ministry of Defence and other customers.
The role
We are looking for a Cable / Harness Technician to join our team based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. The role offers a 4 day working week (Monday‑Thursday) and flexible working arrangements. You will receive ongoing training and support.
Responsibilities
- Competent and safe use of all hand tools.
- Use of jigs, fixtures and measuring tools.
- Problem solve with a positive attitude.
- Work with support from engineering group in a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware.
Required skills
- Cable and harness manufacturing to specifications using work instructions and engineering drawings in a medium volume production environment.
- Understanding of ESD controls.
- Experience in the use of crimp tools and ability to hand solder to high accuracy.
- Competent with using IT/software packages.
- Cleanliness and housekeeping (5S) methodology.
- A high level of health and safety awareness.
- Certified IPC 620 or experience working with or understanding IPC/J‑Standards.
