Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD
- Create a structured, predictable, and supportive classroom environment
- Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and engagement
- Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver high-quality provision
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where needed
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with children with ASD, ideally within a primary setting
- Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to behaviour management
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet a range of complex needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential
