Permanent

Grade A £24,796 – £27,254 – Salary is pro rata to the hours worked

Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 15 hours – Monday to Friday 11.00am midday to 2.00pm

Term time only

This General Assistant role is part of ‘Cityserve’ – Birmingham City Councils multi award winning catering service for school meals.

Cityserve provide fresh and nutritious food for school kitchens across the UK. Healthy eating is a continuous theme throughout all of our menus and we are committed to the wellbeing of pupils. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, loves working with people and is able to play a key role in supporting team members.

The Role

As a General Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of cooking meals for pupils
  • Assist keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
  • Washing up, sweeping and mopping
  • Set up dining areas
  • Put out furniture
  • Be aware of pupils needs, dietary and allergen requirements
  • Attend training sessions and online sessions where needed
  • Work collaboratively with managers and supervisors both in and outside of performance times.
