Welding Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify structural and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with project specifications and codes
• Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and production teams to resolve technical issues
• Check material specifications and ensure proper traceability and certification of steel materials
• Monitor fabrication activities including cutting, welding, assembly, and inspection processes
• Ensure welding procedures, quality standards, and NDT requirements are properly implemented
• Conduct inspections during fabrication and on-site erection works
• Ensure structural steel installation meets alignment, connection, and design requirements
• Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformance issues and corrective actions
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection records, and project quality reports
• Support project teams in resolving technical discrepancies and site challenges

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
• Experience in structural steel fabrication and/or construction industry preferred
• Familiarity with structural drawings, steel detailing, and relevant codes/standards
• Knowledge of welding processes and QA/QC procedures is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and coordination abilities
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
