Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Birmingham for a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker. The role involves day‑to‑day care of children in a residential setting, ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include mentoring and supporting children, implementing safeguarding practices, maintaining a high standard of care, and contributing to their personal, social, and educational development. The Senior Support Worker will also take on responsibilities for supervising junior staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a positive living environment.
Qualifications
- Skills in providing direct support to children, including Support Worker experience and knowledge of care practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships with children, colleagues, and external agencies
- In‑depth understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to ensuring the safety and well‑being of children
- Ability to provide technical support, maintain accurate records, and comply with care regulations
- Experience supervising and mentoring staff members is an advantage
- Relevant qualification in social care, childcare, or a related field is required
- Flexibility, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact in children’s lives
