A specialist SEN school in Peterlee is seeking an EYFS Learning Support Assistant to support children within an early years specialist classroom.

The school supports pupils with Autism, sensory processing needs, speech and language difficulties and developmental delays through a nurturing and highly personalised approach.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting early years learning and development
  • Delivering sensory and communication-based activities
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and routines
  • Assisting pupils with social interaction and engagement
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and therapists

Ideal applicant

  • Have EYFS or SEN experience desirable
  • Be calm, patient and nurturing
  • Understand child‑centred learning approaches
  • Be passionate about supporting early development

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
