Salary £12.71 per hour + £1.91 per hour holiday pay

Various Hours: 37 hours per week / 38 weeks per year – Business Support 13-19

The Role

Working within Blackburn College on all sites, including Future Focus provision delivered at the Launch Pad Centre in Blackburn Town Mall, you will support learners studying on courses from entry provision up to level 3, including A level and T levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality, proactive learning support service for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Support learners toward their chosen programme of study and long-term employment aspirations, focusing on positive behaviours, good attendance habits, and strong attitudes to learning.
• Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure learners receiving support have opportunities to achieve and exceed their potential, develop independence skills, and have equal opportunities to progress into further study, employment, and/or positive community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in an education or care setting with young people who have learning difficulties, disabilities, and complex or physical needs.
• Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within one year.
• Qualifications in learning support, care, or education, or willingness to work toward such qualifications.
• Knowledge and understanding of barriers and issues faced by students with special educational needs and disabilities and strategies to overcome them.
