Youth Transitions Coach (Connexions Team)
Salary: Grade 6 – £18,181.50 – £20,388.50 per annum
Contract type: Fixed term/part time 18.5 hours per week
We are committed to supporting more young people into good jobs, training, and meaningful futures. The Council delivers enhanced support for 16‑18‑year‑olds through the Connexions team, ensuring every young person has a clear pathway into education, employment and training.
As the Youth Transitions Coach, you will provide tailored, flexible one‑to‑one support to NEET/unemployed young people aged 16‑18, manage a caseload, support them into education, employment, training or apprenticeships, conduct home visits, liaise with parents and carers, support during duty and drop‑in sessions from the designated centre in Wolverhampton, and work in community settings and youth‑focused environments to identify and support those transitioning into their next stage of their career.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide tailored, flexible one‑to‑one support to NEET/unemployed young people aged 16‑18.
- Manage a NEET & Not Known caseload.
- Support young people into Education, Employment, Training or apprenticeships.
- Carry out home visits.
- Liaise with parents and carers of young people.
- Support young people during duty and drop‑in sessions from the designated centre in Wolverhampton.
- Work in community settings and youth‑focused environments to identify young people who need support transitioning into their next stage of their career.
