Flavour Technologist (Full-time, Permanent)

Location: Onsite – Aylesford, 8:30am‑5:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Work on end-to-end development of RTM beverages, from assessing active ingredients and their interactions to using internal and external flavours.
  • Build relationships with flavour suppliers and industry specialists to gain raw material, legislative and processing knowledge.
  • Build relationships with customers to best understand their expectations and final processing steps; attend customer meetings to provide and note project updates.
  • Maintain the development lab ingredient and flavour library to ensure materials are readily available.
  • Investigate regulatory compliance for ingredients used in concepts based on the country the product will be marketed in.
  • Continuously build expertise on functional ingredients and keep up to date with trending flavour profiles and sports and nutritional products in the market.
  • Prepare samples for customer submissions and manage sending samples to customers.
  • Note feedback from customers and amend flavour profiles accordingly.
  • Update the formulation system with prototype flavour systems for cost indications.
  • Hold sign-off sessions with cross‑functional departments once a flavour profile has been approved.
  • Assist in advising quality assurance checks post‑production when required.
  • Attend first production runs to ensure the manufacturing site fully understands the specification that the product must be produced to.
  • Attend trade shows to understand the market and develop customer and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

  • BSC in Food Science, Food Chemistry or related field.
  • 1‑2 years working in beverage development – confidence in unit conversions and formulating.
  • Excellent taste buds and a talent for creating delicious functional drinks.
  • Efficient working method with effective prioritising skills – able to work on multiple projects and meet various timelines.
  • Effective communicator of technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative mindset and passion for food and drink.
