Primary Supply Teacher – GSL Education

GSL Education is recruiting Primary Supply Teachers for a range of primary schools across Colchester and surrounding areas, including multi‑academy trusts and independent schools. There is high demand for teachers, offering everything from day‑to‑day supply to long‑term placements. Whether you are looking for regular work or just a few days a week, opportunities are available to suit you.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
• Manage the classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
• Ensure pupils remain engaged and on task
• Adapt to different schools, classes, and teaching styles
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
• Provide feedback to the class teacher at the end of the day

What we’re looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in primary schools
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A flexible and adaptable approach
• Reliable, professional, and confident in new environments
• A genuine passion for teaching and supporting pupils
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
