About the Role
The Development Technician supports the business by running engine test operations under the direction of the Test team lead. Duties include control of data logging equipment and monitoring with control of the engine during the test. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and confidence working in a workshop environment.
Responsibilities
Engine Testing
- To fit engines to test stands and assemble instrumentation as required
- Conduct performance and functional tests
- Diagnose and resolve issues during testing
Engine Register and Documentation
- Maintain and update test data and configuration logs
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete and traceable
Test Rig Assembly and Setup
- Build and configure test rigs
- Calibrate and maintain rigs to ensure reliable testing
Workshop Equipment Care
- Clean and maintain tools and machinery
- Identify and address equipment issues to minimise downtime
Preferred Skills
- Past experience of engine / subsystem testing is highly advantageous
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Practical problem-solving ability
- Clear and confident communication
- Awareness of workshop health and safety practices
- Strong organisation
- Confidence working in a workshop environment
