Team Teach Trained SEMH Teaching Assistant – Specialist School

Location: Wickford, Essex

Contract: Long-term with potential permanent position after successful probation

Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday‑Friday

Start Date: September 2026

Responsibilities

• Build secure relationships with children & young people
• Understand specific needs, especially those with trauma
• Support pupils with social and emotional needs
• Work 1:1 with pupils

Qualifications / Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
• Excellent communication and behaviour‑management skills
• Previous experience caring for children or adults
• Desirable: care work, PRU experience, SEMH experience
