SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Worthing Full-Time / Part-Time | Term-Time Only Contract Type: Permanent / Long-Term

Are you a compassionate individual dedicated to helping children with special educational needs? Randstad Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a partner school. This is a rewarding chance to provide consistent, caring support to students throughout their education.

The Role

As an SEN TA, you will:

  • Offer one-to-one and small group support to children with various needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Help carry out Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Work with the class teacher and SENCO to provide personalised learning.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, social skills, and emotional control.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning space.

Requirements

  • Experience with children with SEN (either in a school or care environment).
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible attitude.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus.
