A specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Alternative Provision in South West London is seeking an experienced and resilient PE Teacher to join their team full-time. The provision supports students across KS3 and KS4 with SEMH, behavioural needs, ADHD, trauma and challenging behaviour. Many students have experienced barriers to mainstream education and require strong relationship-based teaching and consistent behaviour management.
This role is ideal for a PE Teacher who is passionate about behaviour intervention, engagement and inclusive education.
The Role
- Deliver PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students with SEMH, behavioural difficulties and additional needs
- Use sport and physical activity to improve engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
- Differentiate lessons to meet varying academic and behavioural needs
- Build positive and consistent relationships with vulnerable students
- Manage challenging behaviour using restorative approaches
- Work closely with behaviour mentors, SEN staff and pastoral teams
Candidate Requirements
- QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching PE within PRU, AP, SEN or mainstream schools
- Strong behaviour management skills essential
- Experience supporting SEMH, ASD, ADHD or challenging behaviour desirable
- Resilient, calm and adaptable approach
- Team Teach training desirable but not essential
