Property Adjuster – Solent
As a Domestic Loss Adjuster you will manage a caseload of domestic property damage claims across the Solent area. Your day will involve visiting customers at their homes, coordinating with contractors, and finally settling each claim. You will be the calming presence during unsettling moments, such as bursting pipes, fire damage, or storm‑related roof damage, while also compiling comprehensive reports after each visit.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Assess residential claimants’ homes and determine the extent of damage or loss.
- Coordinate contractor visits and inspections.
- Collect evidence and negotiate fair settlements with policyholders, insurers and contractors.
- Prepare detailed reports and complete documentation for each claim.
- Map out a self‑managed weekly schedule and meet deadlines while handling multiple claims.
Qualifications
- A full UK Driving Licence – essential to travel by car.
- Insurance knowledge – understanding of home insurance policies and of basic domestic property structure.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, ability to explain complex details clearly.
- Problem‑solving abilities – identify and solve issues efficiently.
- Time‑management – effectively plan a week, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
What Is Helpful, But Not Vital, In Your Application
- Experience with Apple software such as iPads or other tablets.
The Skills That Will Be Developed Once Working
- Comprehensive Sedgwick‑specific training.
- Professional development towards the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters’ CILA qualification.
