Primary Teacher – SEN Specialist Provision (SEMH)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Primary Teacher to join our SEN specialist provision in Withywood, working with a small Key Stage 2 class of pupils with Special Educational Needs, predominantly Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a genuine difference to children who require a nurturing, structured and trauma-informed approach to learning.
The Role
- Teach and support a small KS2 class within a specialist SEN provision
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, therapists and external agencies
- Create a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment where pupils can thrive
Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience working with pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs (desirable, not essential)
- Is patient, flexible and empathetic with a strong understanding of behaviour as communication
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and relationship‑building skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Essential Criteria
- Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday‑Friday 8:30-15:30
- Right to work in the UK – we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
- Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
- Up‑to‑date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one
