Fabric Technician – North East of England
Salary: £32,774.12 per annum, 22.5 days annual leave (increases to 25 days after 5 years) and bank holidays.
Contract type: Permanent, full‑time. Typical attendance 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday.
Coverage area: NE (Newcastle), SR (Sunderland), DH (Durham), DL (Darlington), TS (Teeside). Future possibility of joining the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.
About the role
You will be the primary contact with end users or main customers and will work closely with Building Engineering Technicians, Asset Technicians and the Area Maintenance Manager.
You will provide Building Fabric knowledge to customers, guaranteeing first‑class service and ensuring premises are secure and safe at all times. You will apply technical skills to a range of situations that require experience and judgment to solve fabric‑related problems or complete projects. You will ensure full compliance with RMPFS health and safety policies and procedures.
About you
- Computer literate, particularly with electronic management systems and email.
- Effective communication skills; able to actively listen and transmit important messages to customers at all levels.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of carpentry and wet trades.
- Good knowledge of Building Fabric products.
- Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
