GCSE/Functional Skills Tutor

Overview

Prospero Teaching are seeking reliable and qualified GCSE/Functional Skills Tutors, particularly in Maths, English, and Science, to support young people requiring alternate provision in the BCP area. Our tuitions run from 2 to 15 hours a week per young person, so are perfect for those seeking part-time and full-time tuition work.

Responsibilities

• Provide GCSE/Functional Skills tuition in Maths, English and Science as required, with strong curriculum knowledge.
• Tailor learning to the needs of each young person and make sessions bespoke to their learning requirements.
• Deliver tuition in the home of the young person or in public settings such as libraries and cafes, ensuring sessions are accessible by considering tutor location.
• Offer flexible tuition schedules that work around the strengths and availability of the tutor.
• Monitor and report on progress and adjust learning plans accordingly.

Requirements

• Hold QTS or have experience in teaching or tutoring young people for at least 6 months.
• All staff must hold an enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service; we can assist with obtaining this if needed.
• If you currently have a child-only DBS on the update service, you will not be able to work with students aged 18 or over.
