Job Overview

Title: Housekeeping Supervisor – Band 3Tenure: Permanent Part‑time (30 hours per week)Work hours: Mon‑Fri 07:00 – 13:00

Salary: £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (full‑time) – £20,608 – £21,980 pro‑rateClosing date: 26/05/2026 23:59

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Housekeeping and, where applicable, Linen Services to the Trust, ensuring that clinics, departments and corridors are maintained to the highest hygiene and environmental cleanliness standards.
  • Lead the Housekeeping team in providing high‑quality services to all areas, supporting service modernisation and national initiatives.
  • Assist in establishing Hotel Services as having day‑to‑day ownership of the hospital environment for the Facilities Division.
  • Use initiative and a customer‑care approach to meet changing priorities, demonstrating a positive appearance and strong communication skills.
  • Identify and implement improvements in work processes, reporting progress and outcomes to senior management.

Qualifications

  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or better in Maths and English
  • Computer literacy to RSA level 2 or equivalent
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care

Experience & Skills

  • Previous NHS experience or a high‑level customer‑service environment
  • Experience of staff training and supervisory roles
  • Literacy, numeracy and comprehension sufficient for timesheets, cost calculations and short reports
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with people from all backgrounds
  • Awareness of the Dignity in Care agenda and the ability to evidence key Trust values (Patient‑Centred, Safety, Compassion, Respect, Excellence)
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Flexible approach to changing workload and the ability to react quickly and sensitively to a wide range of needs
  • Experience with office systems and an eagerness to embrace change
