We are currently recruiting an additional teaching assistant for one of our mainstream primary schools based in South Leeds. This is a long-term opportunity starting in September for one term initially. The role supports children across Key Stage 1 with various SEND needs.
Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant you will be required to support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the class teacher and the SENDCO. You may also be required to support a small group of pupils as well as the full class when needed.
You must have a DBS checked on the update service, or be willing to apply for one in order to be considered for this role.
Qualifications
- Experience of working with children with SEND, especially autism.
- Understanding of the needs of SEND pupils.
- Experience working with children, SEND and/or the care industry.
- A can‑do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom.
- Ability to use initiative and work well under pressure.
- Effective communication skills with children and other staff members.
