Job Summary
C.R. Jackson is hiring a CDL Dump Truck Driver to support our road building and construction work across South Carolina. In this role, you will safely move materials to and from job sites so our crews can stay on schedule and get the job done right. You’ll be part of a team that values safety, teamwork, and doing quality work every day.
What You’ll Do
- Drive a dump truck to haul materials like dirt, stone, and asphalt.
- Check your truck before and after each shift to make sure it is safe to use.
- Load and unload materials safely at plants and job sites.
- Watch your surroundings at all times, including other trucks, equipment, and workers.
- Follow DOT rules and all company safety guidelines.
- Keep your truck clean and report any problems right away.
- Communicate with supervisors and crew members to keep work moving.
- Help with simple job site tasks when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving a dump truck and hauling asphalt, dirt, and stone.
- Ability to follow directions and work safely.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Reliable and shows up to work on time.
- Willing to work overtime, nights, or weekends when needed.
- Must wear proper safety gear (PPE).
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Sit for long periods while driving.
- Climb in and out of the truck safely.
- Stand or walk on job sites when needed.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work outside in heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Walk on uneven ground at job sites.
- Stay aware of people and equipment around you.
