38.25 hours per week, 42 weeks a year

Salary – £24,303 per annum (based on experience).

Joining bonus of £500 upon joining (paid at 3 months service providing not working notice)

Full training and development programme provided.

Job Specification – Tutor (Teaching Assistant)

  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5.00pm, 4:30 finish on Fridays.
  • Direct Supervisor: Class Leader and Teacher in Charge.
  • School year: Approx. 42 weeks a year across three terms.
  • Location: Grinstead Lane, Sharpthorne, East Sussex, RH19 4HP.
  • Probation period: Six months.

A typical day

  • Providing direct teaching and support to our pupils following their own individual targets
  • Prepare your resources and plan for your sessions so you can deliver a smooth lesson focusing on communication and life skills using Applied Behavioural Analysis.
  • Support pupils when attending group sessions, participating in external activities such as swimming, horse riding or trampolining
  • Assisting in snack and lunch duties including supporting healthy food choices
  • Provide behavioural management support to help reduce behaviours
  • Track and log pupil progress throughout the day collaborating with the team if targets need to be adjusted.
  • Attend after school training and complete relevant paperwork
