The Role
We are seeking an individual to join the Active Recovery Programme team to help people in recovery from substance misuse and mental health issues lead healthier lifestyles, build resilience and improve prospects through sport and physical activities. Key responsibilities include engaging new participants in activities, motivating and mentoring them in the community to raise Active Recovery’s awareness and gain referrals. This involves collaborating with Area Project Leads and the wider team to deliver activities efficiently.
The role requires flexibility to meet the needs of participants and the team, including availability on weekends and evenings. Participants will be signposted to other organisations when needed. Safeguarding is critical; any concerns must be communicated immediately via the Welfare portal.
Working closely with the Research and Insight Officer, you will ensure all information is captured on the Active Recovery Portal for accurate completion of evaluation paperwork, quarterly reports, and outcome measures. Creativity is encouraged to develop new delivery ideas and engagement strategies to improve the programme.
As our Active Recovery pathway transitions participants into voluntary and paid employment, we welcome applications from current volunteers who are registered on the volunteers portal.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be registered on the volunteers portal. An Enhanced DBS check is required, with conviction disclosures risk‑assessed by our Safeguarding and HR team.
