Salary and Benefits
Wage: £12,480 to £19,827.60, depending on your age.
National Minimum Wage applies. Travel time paid at minimum wage rate and mileage @ 0.22 pence. Company Pension Scheme. Blue Light Card discount scheme.
Training
Adult care worker training course (Level 2).
Working Hours
Weekdays: Mornings 08:00-15:00, Evenings 16:00-21:30.
Weekends: Mornings 08:00-14:00, Evenings 16:00-21:30. Exact shifts TBD.
30 hours a week.
Duration
1 year.
Start Date
Thursday 1 October 2026.
Work
Apprentices spend most of their time working and learning on the job.

- Providing personal care
- Meal preparation
- Companionship
- Escorting service users when shopping
- Overseeing medication
- End of life care
Training days
Apprentices are required to attend St Austell College one day a week as part of apprenticeship training.
You will receive on- and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.
Requirements
- GCSE in Maths (grade 3/D) or equivalent
- Other relevant qualifications and industry experience may be considered

- Must have a driving licence or own transport around the Penzance area.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team.

- Potential to transition to an NHS career.
