Position
Part‑time (22.5 hours per week) nursing role in the Outpatients Department, Monday–Friday with occasional evening clinics. The role will rotate through all outpatient specialties, providing support across medical and surgical clinics.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in outpatient settings, including assistance with mobility, bed positioning, and manual handling.
- Support patients with toileting needs, incontinence management, and continence promotion.
- Serve meals, drinks, and snacks, and assist with feeding when required.
- Record dietary intake as indicated in the patient’s care plan.
- Prevent pressure sore development in accordance with the Registered Nurse and the patient’s care plan.
- Obtain specimens for clinical or laboratory testing.
- Carry out non‑complex wound dressing techniques as per competency and care plan.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for clinical investigations and treatments.
- Assist with procedures under a Registered Practitioner and prepare procedure trolleys.
- Prepare patients for investigations or procedures, offer support, answer questions, and assist in recovery.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Reputation for high standard of patient care.
- Demonstrable experience in a hospital setting (NVQ level 2).
- Willingness and capability to undertake NVQ level 3.
