Location: 2300 – Tyndale Primary School. Contractual hours: 12.5 basis part time. Salary: NJC Grade 11 pay scale, points 5-6 (25,583-25,989 FTE).

Our After‑School Provision is an important part of The Tyndale Way — providing children with a safe, nurturing, engaging and joyful environment at the end of the school day.

We are seeking two warm, energetic and highly organized After‑School Play Leaders to lead and develop our after‑school provision. The successful candidates will create a welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to attend, while ensuring high expectations for behaviour, routines and relationships are maintained consistently.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children, enjoys building positive relationships with families and colleagues, and can create engaging experiences that support children’s social, emotional and personal development.

The After‑School Play Leaders will be responsible for planning and leading a range of enriching activities, supervising play opportunities, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, care and organisation throughout the provision.

Responsibilities

  • The particular duties of the After‑School Play Leader will be determined by the Head Teacher/Deputy and /or SENDCo and will be arranged to meet the needs of the School and pupil(s) being supported. This may include working with pupils with a statement of special educational needs.
  • Lead the day‑to‑day organisation and running of the after‑school provision.
  • Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Plan and deliver engaging indoor and outdoor activities suitable for primary‑aged children.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families and staff.
  • Promote exceptional behaviour through clear routines, high expectations and positive interactions.
  • Ensure children are safe, happy and well supervised at all times.
  • Support children’s social development, independence and wellbeing through play and enrichment opportunities.
  • Organise resources and maintain a stimulating environment.
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and school policies and procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with parents and carers at collection times.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure consistency with the school ethos and values.
  • Support with snack preparation and maintaining a clean, organised provision space.
  • Contribute to “The Best Chance of Success” ethos of the school.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training, as available.
