- The role will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and optimisation of the firm’s generative AI (GenAI) applications and technology stack.
- This role ensures the seamless operation of critical Gen AI systems and productivity tools that support legal workflows.
- The role requires someone with good commercial experience and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, obtain buy-in, build trust and strategize an AI initiative fit for purpose across the business.
- The role reports to the firms’ IT Director and also has a dotted line report to our CEO based in Washington DC in respect of some AI initiatives.
- Developing GenAI-backed services and applications (assistants, copilots, agents, document workflows).
- Integrating LLMs via APIs/SDKs into the firm’s technology stack.
- Monthly reporting on latency, cost, error rates, quality metrics, and model/feature usage amongst our people.
- Leading on the successful technical design and implementation of new GenAI applications.
- Evaluating emerging GenAI tools for potential adoption.
Skills Required
- 3+ years experience in GenAI engineering within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of the primary foundational models from Open AI (GPT), Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude) and Meta (Llama).
- Extensive Experience with GenAI platforms, including prompt engineering and AI governance.
- Understanding of tokenisation/cost drivers, latency trade-offs, and evaluation methods.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a clear client service ethos.
This role offers hybrid working – 2 days WFH weekly.
