Job Description:

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service requires the services of a permanent Driving Instructor/s to support Service Delivery and Emergency Response. This challenging, rewarding and pivotal role will see the successful applicant join a team that delivers all Service driver training, inclusive of the new Emergency Response Driver Training Regulations.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver and assess Large Goods Vehicle courses, Emergency Response Driver Training courses and refresher courses. Provide light vehicle driving instruction (ADI qualified or willing to obtain ADI). Occasionally act as an invigilator for LGV and PSV Theory Tests.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Hold a clean current Large Goods Vehicle Licence.
  • Hold a clean Light Vehicle Licence.
  • Hold an ADI qualification.
  • Have instructional and assessor experience as a Driving Instructor for light and Large Goods Vehicles.
  • Have instructional or driving experience as an emergency response driver.
  • Hold a teaching qualification.
  • Hold the NFCC Emergency Response Driving Training Certificate.

Work Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. Role can be full‑time or part‑time based on preference discussed in interview.
