Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 3 pupil who exhibits significant behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding and impactful role where you’ll play a vital part in helping a child remain engaged in school and access learning in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide focused 1:1 behaviour support to a Year 3 pupil
- Use de-escalation and behaviour management techniques to diffuse challenging situations
- Work with the class teacher and external professionals to implement an individual support plan
- Support the pupil in completing academic work and staying engaged in learning
- Maintain a positive, consistent, and calm presence within the classroom
- Record and report behaviour incidents, progress, and interventions as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour
- Team-Teach training (or willingness to complete training)
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
- A flexible and adaptable attitude, able to respond quickly to changing situations
