Teacher of Music (Qualified or Unqualified)

The Gatwick School is looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Music on a permanent basis. This role welcomes trainees who can train and gain QTS while working on a full‑time or part‑time basis, as well as qualified teachers, including ECTs, to teach pupils aged 4‑16 across our all‑through school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in music or a related performing arts field – or a willingness to complete a relevant degree.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a genuine willingness to obtain QTS.
Skills & Knowledge
- Resilience and the ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation).
- Ability to think creatively, prioritise, and develop classroom environments that encourage independence and self‑management.
- Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice and equality policies, and the ability to integrate them into practice.
Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusive education.
- Evidence of effective safeguarding practices and compliance with safeguarding requirements.
- Experience using ICT to support learning and innovative teaching approaches.
- Successful partnership working with schools, academies, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and proven track record in improving pupil outcomes.
- Teaching experience within more than one school and in experience of Ofsted processes.
