Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN Support: Year 5)

Location: Hounslow, London.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support for a Year 5 pupil with SEN.
• Support learning across the curriculum, adapting tasks as needed.
• Assist with emotional regulation, confidence building, and social development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual education plans.
• Promote independence while ensuring consistent support.
• Support behaviour and positive engagement in learning.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties).
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education.
• Relevant TA or SEN qualifications are desirable but not essential.
