Electronic Repair Technician – Tewkesbury (initially based in Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham)

Ontic is recruiting for an Electronic Repair Technician to join our Operations team, supporting high‑quality maintenance, repair and overhaul services for critical aerospace components. The role is based at our Tewkesbury site, with initial onboarding and training in Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham.

Role

As an Electronic Repair Technician you will diagnose, repair and return complex electronic products to service, ensuring they meet exacting aerospace quality and safety standards. Working within a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment, you will carry out detailed inspection, fault‑finding and repair activities at the component level, using diagnostic tools, technical drawings and engineering specifications. Your responsibilities include assembling, testing and inspecting products, maintaining accurate records in business systems and ensuring full traceability throughout the repair process. You will collaborate with engineering, quality and operational teams to support investigations, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Working hours are shift‑based, covering early, late and night shifts to support operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working at electronic component level within a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in aerospace or another regulated industry.• Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, engineering drawings and technical documentation, with a strong understanding of electronic principles and fault‑finding techniques.• Hands‑on approach, good dexterity and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple products while meeting tight deadlines.• Experience using test equipment, ERP systems and recording root cause analysis and corrective actions.• recognised qualification in electronic engineering (HNC level or equivalent) or time‑served experience.
