Music Technician – Ealing

Are you a skilled Music Technician with a passion for sound, creativity, and education? A thriving secondary school in Ealing is seeking a talented Music Technician to join their dynamic team.

About the Role

As the school’s Music Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of all music lessons, rehearsals and large-scale performances. You’ll be the go‑to sound and music equipment expert, supporting both staff and students in creating exceptional musical experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, set up and troubleshoot all sound and music equipment across the department.
  • Provide sound engineering support for major school events, concerts and productions.
  • Manage the organization of peripatetic (peri) music lessons – scheduling, communication and follow‑up.
  • Liaise effectively with teaching staff, students and parents to ensure smooth day‑to‑day running of the music department.
  • Handle invoicing and administrative tasks for peri music lessons.
  • Ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly maintained, logged and ready for use.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Music Technician or sound engineer (school or professional setting).
  • Excellent understanding of audio equipment, recording software and live sound mixing.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and visiting peri teachers.
