Class 2 HGV Driver

Position Overview

As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations. Early starts are a regular part of the job, and you will need to organise your own workload and plan deliveries effectively. This role involves working away from home Monday to Thursday on a regular basis, for which allowances are included.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 vehicles safely, adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.
• Plan and organise delivery schedules, considering time constraints, traffic conditions, and priorities.
• Ensure goods are loaded securely and appropriately, meeting weight distribution and vehicle capacity requirements.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately, including delivery notes, logbooks, and other documentation.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and report defects, maintaining cleanliness and roadworthiness.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients.
• Maintain effective communication with the transport team, warehouse staff, and other parties to ensure smooth operations.
• Stay informed of and adhere to all relevant transportation regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Work away from home Monday to Thursday, adhering to company policies and allowances.
