Training and Future Opportunities
As a Level 3 Materials Technician apprenticeship you will learn to carry out tests, analyse data, and contribute to important projects in a laboratory or more practical, site‑based environment. Over 20 months you will combine day‑to‑day experience with structured training delivered by expert tutors at Tiro, including online sessions, in‑person training and hands‑on support, alongside guidance from a dedicated mentor.
You will spend at least 6 hours per week on off‑the‑job training, including virtual learning, practical activities and applied assignments. The programme can lead to professional recognition, such as becoming a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech), and may open pathways to higher‑level qualifications, including degree apprenticeships in Materials or Chemistry.
To apply you must be 18 or over due to the nature of the working environment.
