Class 2 Refuse Driver | Kingsbridge | Temp to Perm

We are recruiting reliable HGV Class 2 refuse drivers to work with a well-established waste and recycling service based in Kingsbridge, Devon. This is a physically active driving role combining vehicle operation with hands‑on collections. It offers regular shifts, competitive pay, and the opportunity to move into a permanent contract for the right candidates.

Location

Kingsbridge, Devon, within easy reach of South Brent, Totnes, Paignton, Plymouth, and surrounding South Devon towns.

Pay

£17.65 per hour PAYE Advance. Other PAYE models are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a Category C (Class 2) refuse and recycling vehicle on designated routes
• Assisting with the collection, loading, and unloading of waste and recycling bins
• Liaising with depot staff for daily route instructions and updates
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues promptly
• Following all health and safety guidelines on and off the road

Qualifications

• A valid Cat C (Class 2) driving licence
• In‑date CPC and digital tachograph cards
• No more than 6 points on your licence and no DR, DD, or IN endorsements
• Physically capable of handling bins and containers
• Own transport to travel to the depot
• A mobile phone for receiving route and schedule information
• Prior experience in waste collection or multi‑drop driving
• A strong working knowledge of South Devon routes and areas
