Painter and Decorator
Location: HMP Winchester, Romsey Rd, Winchester. SO22 5DF
Salary: £30,656.92 per annum
Contract: Permanent – 39 hrs per week – Mon‑Fri
Responsibilities
As a Painter & Decorator you will work alongside experienced maintenance staff, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners and administrators, to maintain and enhance the safety and appearance of the prison environment. This includes applying paint, wallpaper and finishes, preparing surfaces, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent (or significant experience/time served in a similar role)
- Experience working in a maintenance team
- Honest and reliable character with a sense of purpose and pace
- Good health & safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
