Responsibilities
- Provide essential pre‑analytical management of pathology specimens and requests to maintain workflow to specialist laboratory services for timely analysis.
- Provide effective post‑analytical management of specialist laboratory investigations ensuring results are accurate, reported within expected timelines and available for scientific validation and review by clinical service users.
- Assist both patients and clinical staff using the pathology service.
- Manage deliveries of patient material, consumables, reagents and mail.
- Work the 7‑day working pattern and support the delivery of a 24/7 pathology service.
- Complete all required training and competencies within the agreed time frame.
Working Pattern and Hours
Hours: 37.5 per week, worked across 7 days including weekends/Bank Holidays. Shifts are between 0845 and 2100 or as required. Part‑time shifts may be considered for evenings or weekend work.
Salary and Employment
Band 3: £25,750 – £27,476 (Fixed Term until 22 August 2027).
