We’re working with a well-established engineering company based in Oxfordshire, developing safety‑critical electronic products used globally across industrial environments.
They are currently expanding their production engineering team and are looking for a Line Support Technician with strong fault‑finding experience to support manufacturing operations and product reliability.
There is no visa sponsorship available for this role, and a UK driving license is required.
Line Support Technician Role
This is a hands‑on role centered around keeping production running smoothly by resolving technical issues as they arise. You’ll act as the first point of contact for faults on the line, diagnosing and repairing electronic assemblies down to component level while investigating recurring issues to identify root causes and prevent repeat failures. Alongside this, you’ll support and maintain production test and assembly equipment to minimise downtime, while using production data to spot trends and drive improvements in reliability and efficiency. You’ll also play a part in introducing new products into manufacturing, ensuring a smooth transition into production, and will document your findings through clear technical reports outlining faults and corrective actions.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing, test or repair environment
- Strong fault‑finding skills to component level
- Ability to read schematics, circuit diagrams and technical documentation
- Good understanding of production test equipment and processes
- Hands‑on experience with soldering and rework
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO9001 or similar)
- Familiarity with Lean tools or structured problem‑solving methods (e.g. 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
- Electro‑mechanical knowledge
- Experience analysing production or test data
