We are looking for an experienced professional to work within Repairs and Investment.
- You will be joining a dedicated reactive repairs team providing support services to our operational teams.
- You will be self‑motivated, intuitive with the confidence to represent the Council’s interests in various forums and circumstances.
- Excellent communication skills and be customer focused
Part of your duties will include –
- Assist with managing, directing, motivating and developing staff
- Organise training and personal development.
- Assist with the allocation of work in line with Council policies and procedures
- Assisting in developing and promoting new workshop standards and working practices
- Promoting high standards of working practices.
- Assist with the delivery of all works within agreed budgets and timescales.
As an Assistant Supervisor you will need –
- Good observational skills
- Knowledge of the construction industry, including planning for materials, trades, building methods and legal requirements.
- Excellent organisational, communication and negotiating skills.
- Good written communication, report writing and computer skills.
- Able to interpret financial and statistical information, in regard to the day to day needs and requirements of running a workshop.
- The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels.
Ideally you should have a recognised qualification and/or related experience with a good knowledge of the building industry.
You will have the skills and abilities required to deal with the conflicting demands and timescales, whilst maintaining good relationships with team members.
