Remote ESL teacher

Cosmo 1:1 is an online learning platform connecting K‑12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons.

As a Remote ESL Teacher based in Greater Manchester, England, UK, you will teach ESL students in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum, delivering 50‑minute 1‑on‑1 lessons on a schedule you set.

The pay rate is $20 USD per class plus incentives.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 instruction to students.
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability.
• Update availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner.
• Submit class feedback after each lesson.
• Communicate with parents, students and Cosmo staff professionally.
• Attend all scheduled classes on time and in a professional setting.
• Maintain a private, quiet location with a reliable internet connection.
• Maintain a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000.
• Provide a welcoming, fun, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 years experience teaching grades K‑12 in ELA.
• Experience with K‑12 ELA standards and curriculum.
• Experience teaching ESL learners.
• Teaching qualification preferred but not required.
• Commitment to a minimum of 6 months teaching with Cosmo 1:1.
• Availability between 8 – 2 PM GMT Monday‑Friday or 5 AM – 2 PM GMT weekends.
• Minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Currently located in the UK.
• Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a suitable PC.
• Soft skills: approachable, patient, adaptive, considerate, enthusiastic, reliable.
• Passion for helping students learn.
