Lavender Lodge School is an independent specialist day school in South London, housed in an 18th‑century building. Pupils come from across the boroughs and experience a high‑quality education focused on autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory issues and associated behavioural challenges. Skill set requirements
- Experience working with pupils who are autistic and with previous experience of this population.
- Ability to communicate in a variety of ways, including Makaton, picture’s display symbols, PECS, and PODD, and experience working with non‑verbal pupils.
- Ability to support pupils who display challenging behaviour and to understand the function of that behaviour.
- Flexibility to work with pupils aged 4 through 11 years.
- Creative lesson delivery with bespoke and accessible curriculum tools.
- Awareness and application of autism strategies such as TEACCH, attention‑to‑autism, and PODD.
