Job Overview

Activities Team Lead at Dorset House, a 50-bed specialist dementia and residential care home located at Coles Ave, Hamworthy, Poole BH15 4HL.

Pay: £13.30 per hour. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends. Shift Pattern: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Closing Date: 13 June 2026.

About the Role

Help plan and deliver an on‑going programme of social activities for residents, some of whom are living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a range of imaginative and enjoyable social & therapeutic activities to residents.
• Manage an ongoing calendar of social events and activities that cover residents’ personal interests.
• Negotiate with suppliers, order materials, buy tickets, book transport and arrange outings, including the wider care team and friends & family of residents if appropriate.
• Research and implement new ideas, events and activities.
• Supervise the Activities Assistant team.

About You

• Warm, energetic, and outgoing, enjoys engaging with people.
• Excellent communication skills and natural ability to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
• Strong time‑management and organisational abilities, able to plan and coordinate multiple activities while adapting to changing needs.
• Experience in managing a small team is desirable.
• Brings positivity and collaboration to a team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
