Job Description:

Sales Director

Location: Home based (with travel around the South of the UK)

Rightmove, the UK’s favourite property platform, is looking for a dynamic and experienced senior sales leader to join our Estate Agency team. You will lead up to four Area Directors who manage field‑based Account Management teams. Success in this role relies on your ability to influence, challenge, and develop senior leaders through trust, credibility and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the UK sales teams to ensure smooth performance.
  • Drive the team to consistently meet or exceed pre‑defined KPIs and sales targets.
  • Set clear expectations, model desired behaviours, and create an environment that supports achieving account plans and objectives.
  • Develop and support territory and area plans to align with overall sales targets.
  • Maintain account planning discipline: prioritisation, growth planning and execution cadence.
  • Use data‑led planning and decision‑making; turn insight into clear actions.
  • Utilise advanced Excel and PowerPoint for performance storytelling and governance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and influencers in the region.
  • Collaborate with other departments and lead by example in managing key accounts to deliver the business strategy.
  • Align leaders and teams through clear messaging, purpose and priorities.
  • Coach Area Directors to raise standards, challenge thinking and develop successors, not just deliver plans.
  • Implement strategic change across teams with differing levels of readiness and appetite.
  • Diagnose root causes, challenge assumptions and set direction using data, not just track performance.
  • Create a strong leadership rhythm that balances pace, governance and adaptability.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in B2B sales management with a strong track record of success.
  • Skilled leader with a history of guiding large sales teams to consistently exceed targets.
  • Strong analytical and planning abilities.
  • A true sales leader who inspires and drives teams beyond forecasting and administration.
  • Self‑motivated and independent thinker, passionate about leading teams and driving best practices for commercial success.
  • Proven experience leading senior sales leaders (manager‑of‑managers) within a complex B2B environment.
  • Track record of influencing through credibility and relationship, rather than positional authority.
  • Highly capable coach who uses coaching to shift behaviour, mindset and leadership impact at scale.
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity, pushback and competing priorities.
  • Data‑confident leader who uses insight to drive decisions, not just report outcomes.
  • Self‑aware, adaptable leadership style – able to dial up challenge or listening as the situation demands.

Benefits

  • Cash plan for dental, optical and physio treatments.
  • Private medical insurance, pension and life insurance, employee assistance plan.
  • 27 days holiday plus two paid volunteering days a year and holiday buy schemes.
  • Contributory stakeholder pension.
  • Life assurance at 4x your basic salary to a spouse, family member or nominated person.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Paid leave for maternity, paternity, adoption and fertility.
  • Travel loans, bike‑to‑work scheme, rental deposit loan.
  • Charitable contributions through payroll giving and donation matching.
  • Access to discounts on travel, electronics, fashion, gym memberships, cinema and more.
  • Hybrid working with a minimum of two days in the office; specific arrangements will be shared during the recruitment process.
