About the Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will be a key member of the school team, supporting students academically, emotionally, and behaviourally. The role offers a great mix of duties, and you’ll be able to gain experience in different educational settings.
Key Responsibilities
- 1:1 support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, and academic needs.
- Leading and supporting interventions for students struggling in subject areas.
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and ensuring all students are engaged and progressing.
- Helping students with emotional wellbeing, encouraging self-confidence and personal growth.
- Implementing the school’s behaviour policy, promoting positive behaviour and supporting students in managing conduct.
- Adapting to different school environments and responding to evolving needs.
Available Roles
- Long-Term: consistent, reliable support in schools that need stable roles.
- Temp-to-Perm: temporary assignments that could lead to a permanent position.
- Full-Time: positions for a consistent work schedule.
About You
- Hold a UK Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (Education, Psychology, curriculum-related field).
- Have previous experience working in a school setting within the last 2 years (tutoring, teaching assistant work, or related roles).
- Strong interest in education and a passion for helping students succeed academically and emotionally.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to hit the ground running in various classroom settings.
- Resilient and committed to providing consistent support to students.
- Can confidently implement and support the school’s behaviour policy.
- Have a DBS on the Update Service and provide two years of professional references.
