Position Overview
You will handle a varied caseload of contentious probate and litigation matters, advising clients and managing cases from instruction through to resolution while meeting agreed financial and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 for both Claimants and Defendants
- Handling probate disputes involving allegations of forgery, testamentary capacity and undue influence
- Advising on disputes concerning the validity and construction of trust documents
- Managing cases involving allegations of fraud
- Acting for Executors in a neutral capacity
- Handling proprietary estoppel and constructive trust claims
- Drafting settlement agreements
- Managing files from instruction through to conclusion with minimal supervision
- Accurate time recording and billing
- Participating in business development and client relationship building
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales
- Current practising certificate with no restrictions
- Minimum 3 years’ PQE in contentious probate or litigation matters
- Strong knowledge of probate litigation and dispute resolution
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
- Strong organisational, drafting and communication skills
- Experience working with case management systems
