Job Summary

We wish to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, who is able to bring enthusiasm and dedication to their work as part of our experienced and highly effective team and may be able to work, as required, in other year groups or with children who have special needs. This is a Grade 3 post working 35 hours a week, term time only plus 5 inset days.

Salary: £25,185 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pupils, attending to the child’s personal needs, including social, pastoral, health, medical and physical hygiene (i.e., toileting and changing)
  • Excellent levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Complete the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme
  • Work with children who exhibit challenging and complex behaviours, understanding child development and learning
  • Support children with communication, severe, profound or complex learning difficulties (highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills; provide advice in accurate spoken English
  • Build positive relationships with parents, pupils and staff
  • Keep detailed written notes on progress and attainment and maintain Learning Journeys/Assessments
  • Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning in Early Years and other age groups, if possible
  • Enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning
  • Work effectively in team and contribute to the broader life of the school community
  • Provide specific support to raise the attainment of under‑performing children and groups

  • Commitment to ensure support is accessible and appropriate for diverse pupil needs
  • Continuous self‑development and commitment to school improvement
  • Consent to, and apply for an enhanced DBS check
