Overview
We are looking for an excellent RE practitioner or current RE Leader to serve as the Leader of RE at Woodmansterne School & Sixth Form. The role involves leading the secondary RE curriculum and supporting teachers and pupils in delivering an inclusive, high-quality education from Nursery to Year 13.
Responsibilities
As the RE Lead you will:
- Drive the secondary curriculum and ensure it meets national standards.
- Work with the teaching team to plan, review and assess pupil progress in RE.
- Lead on educational progress, achievement and enrichment activities, including trips, rewards and clubs.
- Collaborate with parents, pupils, and the wider school community to promote RE values.
- Provide support and mentoring to RE teachers and staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- A proven track record in raising pupil attainment in KS4 and KS5.
- High aspirations and expectations of what can be achieved.
- Understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process.
- Strong team‑working skills and ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, pupils and the school community.
- Strong interpersonal skills and drive to inspire a team.
- Capacity to lead on educational progress, achievement and enrichment.
- A measured, positive and inclusive approach to education.
- Ability to be kind, positive and committed to the school’s inclusive ethos.
- Flexible, calm, able to work under pressure and manage change effectively.
