Front of House Assistant, Mayfield Garden Centre

We are looking for a Part Time Permanent Front of House Assistant to join our team in the Restaurant at Mayfield Garden Centre.

Competitive rate: £10.40 to £12.75 per Hour dependent on age.

Hours: 12 per week over 2 days, including weekend work.

The Role

As a Front of House Assistant, you will provide excellent customer service, take orders, and serve food and drinks. You will need full knowledge of the menus and work closely with FOH and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain front of house and counters each day to company standards.
• Present menus, serve, help customers select food and beverage by offering suggestions.
• Provide counter service and prepare beverages.
• Deliver Chef-prepared meals to customers at their tables.
• Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to hygiene and cleanliness.
• Process payment at electronic till points.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed.
• Close front of house areas each day to company standards.
• May be required to assist with back of house duties.

Qualifications

• Friendly with an engaging personality and genuine love for customer service.
• Barista experience preferred but not essential; full training will be given.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Great teamwork.
• Hardworking.
• Shift flexibility including weekends.
• Ability to work well and efficiently under pressure.
